Roi Ariel has been focusing on responsible travel and sustainable tourism over the past decade. As the General Manager of GSTC, Roi manages the organization’s communications, memberships, events, administration, and other areas. He previously worked with UN-ESCAP researching sustainable development and green growth, and on sustainability issues with the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). Prior to his move to Asia, Roi worked with Friends of the Middle East in Israel as the Green Economy Initiative Advisor, among other sustainable tourism projects. Roi holds a master’s degree in Applied Economic and Social Development from National Chengchi University in Taipei with a focus on sustainability, and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Comparative Religion from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel.

Sean Chadwell has lived and worked in the United States, India, China, and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. As an assistant and associate professor at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, TX from 1998 to 2009, he taught literature, writing, and film studies courses and served as Chair of the Department of Language and Literature.
Living in India from 2009 through 2011, he served as a volunteer teacher instructor at a rural school for low-caste girls near Pune before moving to Shanghai, China in 2010 to join an effort to develop an American-style liberal arts college there.
In 2014, he moved for the first time to Luang Prabang, becoming involved with the Luang Prabang Film Festival as a volunteer. After returning to the U.S. in 2016 and resuming academic administrative work in Louisiana, he rejoined the LPFF organization as its executive director in 2019, happily re-relocating to Laos.

Mr. Joe Choo assumed the position of Area Director, Thailand in September 2018. In his current capacity, Joe leads the overall operations of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in Thailand and oversees all strategic planning and execution of marketing activities within the Thai market to champion Singapore as a compelling tourist destination.
Joe brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge from Singapore. Joe previously served as Senior Manager for the Procurement, Risk Management, and Knowledge Management department where he was responsible for supporting the operational compliance to policies and procedures for STB’s global offices. Joe also served in the Land and Asset Management department where he organized the Merlion’s 40th Birthday Celebrations in 2012. Joe also served in the Cruise Division where he was involved in business development work with cruise lines and the development of the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore.
Joe graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration, and Singapore Polytechnic in 2005 with a Diploma in Business Information Technology.

He is the past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the PATA Foundation, a non-profit organization with a focus on the protection of the environment, the conservation of culture and heritage, and support for education.
Dr. Hardy has 30 years of experience in specialized aviation businesses focusing on data analytics and technology, coupled with several corporate leadership capacities. He is also the founder of Venture Capital firm MAP2 | Ventures, an investment fund with a wide portfolio of technology-centric businesses in the field of FinTech, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, GreenTech and FMCG, as well as a platform that provides valuable management advice, mentorship and access to a vast network built-in corporate development.

During this period, Graham created multimillion-dollar social enterprises to facilitate pro-poor community travel projects in Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam putting hundreds of thousands of dollars annually directly into remote, rural communities through poverty alleviation, cultural preservation and infrastructure initiatives. Weerasak Kowsurat, Senator, formerly served as Thailand Minister of Tourism and Sports, Chairman of the Board of the Sports Authority of Thailand, and also Chairman of the Board of the Tourism Authority of Thailand. His political experience includes Deputy Leader of Chartthai Political Party, Vice Minister for Culture and Vice Minister for Social Development and Human Security. He once served as Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister in International Affairs. Twice elected Member of Thai Parliament and was recorded the youngest Secretary to the President of Thai National Assembly who ex officio Speaker of the Senate and Chairman of the Constitution Tribunal at the age of 24.
Received an honor when finished his Law degree (LL.B.) from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Weerasak later graduated with a master’s degree in law (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School in the US.
Voted Man of the Year in 2004 on International Women’ s Day by Gender Equality Promotion Association and received an outstanding Executive Award from UNIFEM for promoting a campaign to stop violence against woman & Children in the same year, Weerasak was also announced Child Rights Protection Ambassador by the NGOs children protection working committee.

After moving to Laos in 2008, Gabriel founded the Luang Prabang Film Festival a year later, with a desire to bridge the Southeast Asian film communities, while fostering the growth of the Lao film industry. Known for his energetic approach to difficult material, Nordhauser is often called upon to collaborate on projects that require an uncanny ability to mount productions in remote locations of the world under what appears at the onset to be extremely challenging circumstances. It is at those times that he is able to draw from his outdoor skills as a whitewater river rafting guide, ski instructor and ski patrolman. His visual sensibilities were well developed during his early years as an assistant to some of the industry’s most successful photographers, which led him to a career as a commercial still photographer.

Nordhauser served two terms as Chairman of the Board of the American Association of Producers and also a term as Vice President of Motion Pictures of the Producers Guild of America, where he continues as an Honorary Board Member.
Les has shared some of his experience as an educator. In 2002 he taught film production management at the University of Colorado, Denver. In 2002 and 2003 he was awarded the position of Academic Department Chair for both the Video Production and Digital Media Production departments at the Art Institute of Colorado.
Moving to Asia, Les Nordhauser completed more than two years in Mumbai, India, where he worked with Sony Entertainment Television – India as Vice President of Production. In India, he has been involved with many shows such as: “Jassi Jassi Kai Nahin;’ “Yeh Meri Life Heh;”‘Fame Gurukul;”‘Deal Ya No Deal;’ and “Indian Idol”. SET is one of the largest television channels in India.
After India, Les moved to Singapore, working as a Consultant with Sony Pictures Entertainment-Asia,and the action adventure television network – AXN. He worked extensively on “The Amazing Race – Asia’; the first ever franchise of the Emmy award winning American format.
He completed principle photography on the action-thriller,”Deep Gold” in 2007, as Producer for Bigfoot Entertainment in Cebu, Philippines.
Currently, Les Nordhauser is based in Bangkok, Thailand where he started a production and production services company, Greenlight Films, in late 2007. As well as being the founder, he currently works as an executive producer or producer on many projects. Since then, the company has done numerous television shows which have or will appear on Travel Channel, National Geographic, Discovery, The Food Network, Animal Planet, Spike TV, AXN, and the BBC, among others, with well-known hosts such as Anthony Bourdain, Giada De Laurentis, Samantha Brown, and Jeff Corwin. In 2017, Les was one of the Producers on the first Mongolian feature film shot outside of Mongolia: “Three Friends Return”. It was a great experience, and Les was invited to Mongolia shortly after, to discuss collaborations on further projects.

Janet is an expert in sustainable consumption and production. She has worked for the United Nations for over 13 years in Paris, Vienna and now Bangkok, where she leads the Asia and the Pacific work on sustainable lifestyles and innovation. Janet’s work has focused on government partnerships to develop policies in a range of sectors, including sustainable tourism, eco labels, green buildings, education, media and sustainable development. More recently, her work has evolved to private sector partnerships to enable sustainable consumption and production across eCommerce, food delivery, shopping malls, transport, venture capital and food systems. Janet set up the Sustainable Consumption and Production Winter Schools, and more recently the Asian Circular Economy Leadership Academy with Chulalongkorn University where she also provides training on Circular Economy concepts and sustainable lifestyles. She also launched the Asia Pacific Low Carbon Lifestyles Challenge in 2018, which supports startups that offer circular economy business models that reduce plastic waste and carbon footprints of products and services. Paul spent over 15 years in London and New York leading award-winning creative teams working with an array of high profile clients. Throughout his career in advertising, Paul and his wife, a Thai / UK national balanced their time to support NGOs and local change-makers with film and photography. This included covering the refugee crisis in Syria, the educational disadvantage in Laos and Myanmar and sustainable farming in Thailand.
In October 2017, everything ground to a halt as Paul’s wife was killed whilst preparing for a shoot in Myanmar.
To carry on the great work she started, Paul is launching Lanna Films, dedicated to supporting people at the forefront of change and producing content with social impact in Thailand and neighboring countries.

Nick also works as a tour leader and tour lecturer for leading companies and institutions, including Young Presidents’ Organisation and Harvard Business School.
In the world of television and film, Nick has worked in many roles, including Fixer, Location Scout, Location Manager, Line Producer, Executive Producer, Cameraman, and Director. Nick worked as the Location Manager on Tomb Raider, the Line Producer on Top Gear Vietnam and has enjoyed adventures throughout Cambodia with various celebs ranging from motorbike adventurer Charley Boorman to infamous Chef Ramsay. More recently Nick was the Executive Producer on the Cambodian feature film The Last Reel and has worked on his own short travel films for Lonely Planet and other media.

Art then was selected by the Tourism Authority of Thailand to create and perform the song “Miracle Thailand” to promote Thailand to the world. The song’s music video was officially launched in World Travel Mart in London, UK. Art also performed in Thai Festivals in Japan and Vietnam.
Art has been dedicated to creating a YouTube program to encourage people from around the world to travel to ASEAN (Southeast Asia) and experience the local way of living. He has collaborated with governments from 6 ASEAN countries and has created over 150 Episodes from 30 destinations.

Jens Thraenhart was appointed by the six tourism ministries of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, and China to head the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO). With more than 25 years of experience, Mr. Thraenhart has headed digital and marketing strategy teams at organizations including Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and the Canadian Tourism Commission. Recognized as a China expert, he co-founded award-winning Chinese Travel Marketing agency Dragon Trail in 2008, as well as China Travel Trends. He has consulted for the Asian Development Bank, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), and other international organizations. Educated at Cornell University with a Masters of Management in Hospitality, Mr. Thraenhart was named as one of the travel industry’s top 100 rising stars by Travel Agent Magazine in 2003, as one of HSMAI’s 25 Most Extraordinary Sales and Marketing Minds in Hospitality and Travel in 2004 and 2005, and one of the Top 20 Extraordinary Minds in European Travel in 2014.
A member of the UNWTO Global Panel of Experts, and PATA Board Member, he also served as a past executive global board member of HSMAI (Hospitality Sales Marketing Association International), and past Chair of PATA China. Jens is currently enrolled at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in a part-time doctorate program.

Ekachai Uekrongtham is a director and writer, known for Beautiful Boxer (2004), Pleasure Factory (2007) and Skin Trade (2014) as well as the producer of the Netflix series The Stranded. He has worked in both theatre and film and was one of the founding members of the Singapore ACTION Theatre.
Ekachai Uekrongtham’s most famous work was performed in the theatre industry. In 1997, he directed Chang & Eng, a musical based on the lives of one of the most famous pairs of conjoined twins in the world.
He debuted in the world of film with the biographical sports feature Beautiful Boxer (2004), which told the story of a kathoey Muay Thai professional. Ekachai Uekrongtham directed and wrote the production alongside Desmond Sim. It stars Asanee Suwan and Sorapong Chatree.
Uekrongtham is also known for his work on the horror film The Coffin (2008), as well as docudrama Pleasure Factory (2007), which was an official selection for the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.

Tom Waller (full name Thomas de Warrenne Waller) was born in Bangkok to a Thai Buddhist mother and Irish Catholic father. He spent his formative years at a Benedictine monastery school in Yorkshire, England, before pursuing a career in film and television. After attending the Northern Film School in Leeds, England in 1995, he embarked on producing and directing his first film project Monk Dawson (1998) aka Passion for the Priest (US video title), a made-for-TV movie based on the award-winning novel by Piers Paul Read.
After 5 years in London, Waller returned to his native Thailand in 2002 as a producer of independent feature films, with Butterfly Man (2002), Ghost of Mae Nak (2005), The Elephant King (2006) amongst the acclaimed titles produced through his production company De Warrenne Pictures. In 2008, he produced Thomas Clay’s Soi Cowboy (2008) which was selected for the Cannes Film Festival in Un Certain Regard.
In 2006, Waller was hired by Sony BMG Thailand to direct the El Nin-YO! music video for Thai-American pop princess Tata Young. Both the song and MV went straight to No.1 on Channel V and MTV charts.
After producing assignments in Thailand on foreign films Bitter/Sweet (2009), Creation (2009) and The Prince & Me: The Elephant Adventure (2010), Waller decided to return to his passion for directing with Sop-mai-ngeap (2011), his Thai language cinematic directorial debut. The film was nominated for 5 Thailand National Film Association awards including Best Picture and Best Director.
In addition to directing again, he served as a producer on the English language debut of celebrated Thai director Prachya Pinkaew (Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior (2003)) with the Hollywood action thriller Elephant White (2011) starring two time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou and Golden Globe winner Kevin Bacon.
Most recently, he produced and directed Petchakat (2014), a biopic on Thailand’s last prison executioner, which won the prestigious ‘Tukkata Tong’ or Golden Doll awards for Best Picture and Best Screenplay, given by the Thai Entertainment Reporters Association. He also served as line producer for the action sequel Mechanic: Resurrection (2016), starring Jason Statham, Jessica Alba and Tommy Lee Jones, released by Summit Entertainment in 2016.
Since 2004, Waller has been the owner and managing director of De Warrenne Pictures Co. Ltd., now one of Thailand’s leading full-service production companies serving foreign productions based out of Bangkok and Chiang Mai. The company recently handled Wanda Media’s psychological thriller _Battle of Memories (2017)_ (gv), directed by Leste Chen, which was entirely filmed in Thailand. Waller lives in Bangkok with his four children.

Jan completed her bachelor’s degree from Thammasat University, majoring in television production. After exploring a field of drama production for several years, she then went to NZ in 1992. She completed a Master’s degree in commerce and management and also a doctorate in tourism planning and destination marketing from Lincoln University, New Zealand. During those years in NZ, she was involved in establishing the Asian Languages Institute. Her roles were related to marketing and promoting Asian culture as well as creating a greater understanding about Asian business and development. Her academic pathway started at Prince of Songkla University in 1996. She has now been a tourism lecturer for over 17 years. As a director of the Graduate School of Tourism Management at Assumption University for 8 years, she was able to start up the first Ph.D. in hospitality and tourism in Thailand.
She has designed a learning toolbox, named 9+1 building blocks. This learning tool has been widely used for Community Based Tourism (CBT) capacity building and has trained community leaders from all designated areas for sustainability in Thailand. She shared her passion with diverse ranges of participants in Asia; these include planning for MICE and MICE marketing in Taiwan, MICE for educators in Asia, Tourism Management a Regional Approach to the Greater Mekong Sub-Region (GMS) countries, Tourism Education and Management for China, Hospitality and Tourism Management Essentials for Vietnam, Kiwi Specialists in Thailand, Tourism marketing for local governments (all 76 provinces within Thailand). More than 800 participants from all regions in Thailand have completed a tourism marketing capacity building program designed carefully with her lead and support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand. She continues to work extensively with both the public and private sectors in the decentralization process, destination branding, and tourism strategies.
She is now a managing director and consultant, leading an innovative team at Perfect Link Consulting Group “a consortium of experts”, specializing in capacity building program, tourism marketing, destination branding, creative tourism, sustainable culinary supply chain management, greener business, hotel, and tourism occupational standards, organization development and sustainable tourism development and community participation in sustainable development. Her recent research focusing on Tourism and Thainess, the value creation and the gastronomy tourism has been recognized as one of the outstanding projects as a result Thailand Boutique Awards has created three pillars of “colours of thai” as a key indicator for best boutique hotels and branding strategies in Thailand.
